Club Workshop
Our workshop includes the following items of woodturning equipment,
which are available for use by members once they have been taught
how to use the items properly and safely:
• lathes (14 off)
• bandsaws (2 off)
• pedestal drill press
• electric chisel sharpener
• electric sander
• Beall buffing station
• battery operated electric drills (e.g. for power sanding)
• mains powered electric drills (e.g. for power sanding)
• dust extractor (connected to the bandsaw, & power sander)
• roof-mounted air filtration units (2 off)
• compressor
The club is striving to replace the older (20 year +) belt-driven lathes
with new DVR (variable speed electric drive) lathes.
We are grateful for the funding support that we have received from
charitable trusts in helping us with this goal.

Additionally, the workshop has the following attachments/accessories:

Each lathe is equipped with the following:
• 15mm bowl gouge
• 13mm bowl gouge
• 10mm bowl gouge
• parting chisel
• skew chisel
• knockout bar
• live centre
• drive spur
Additionally, the following special purpose chisels:
• cup chisels
• spindle roughing gouges
• bowl bottom gouge
• scraper
• dovetail mini chisel (e.g. for internal spigots)
• several other mini chisels
