Who can join?

Anyone with an interest in woodturning, from absolute beginners to experienced turners, is welcome. We’re open to men and women of all ages and ethnicities.

 

When is the club open?
The club operates most of the year (February-November). Workshop hours are:

  • Tuesday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (bring your own lunch)

  • Wednesday: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

  • Thursday: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What can new members expect to learn?
Introduction to lathes, chisels, and safe use of other equipment like bandsaws and sanders. We also offer guidance on wood finishes and safety practices.

Are materials provided?
The club supplies wood blanks (costs may apply) and other consumables. Discounts from suppliers are also available to members.

What facilities and equipment does the club offer?

Our purpose-fitted workshop includes 12 lathes, a range of tools, safety equipment, and amenities like tea, coffee, a fridge, and a microwave.
 

Can I try it out before joining?
Yes! We offer a free trial where you’ll learn the basics and get hands-on practice with a lathe and chisel under the guidance of our Tutor. Contact Murray, our Membership Officer, to arrange a trial.


How do I join the club?
If you have woodturning experience or have completed a trial, download the membership form and either bring it with you or send it to us.
