New Members

New members at the Hamilton Woodturners Club receive thorough training on safe, correct use of woodturning equipment. During the induction, the club provides essential materials, like wood blanks and finishing supplies. After completing induction, members are encouraged to invest in basic tools and consumables to advance their woodturning skills. The club’s fortnightly newsletter offers valuable advice and information about upcoming events. While each lathe includes basic tools, members often choose to acquire additional gear, such as safety equipment, specialised chisels, chucks, and faceplates, to enhance their experience. Project workbooks are also available for purchase, guiding members through specific woodturning projects.

Member Stories

The Club environment provides motivation and stimulus for the more experienced turners with Club challenges and projects while providing a vehicle for new turners to learn basic woodturning skills from enthusiastic experienced turners - Robert (a founding member)
